Otra cita fake... Esta vez Buddha

En una entrada anterior había escrito sobre una cita atribuida falsamente a una persona. Allí cité dos libros interesantes que ayudan a verificar y corroborar ese tipo de citas:

Resulta que en un libro de Arquitectura de Software encontré una cita que se atribuye a Buddha:

"Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it."

Como siempre, la curiosidad me llevó a indagar un poco sobre esa cita y encontré un sitio web dedicado a citas falsas de Buddha. Y en ese sitio hay una larga entrada y discusión sobre la cita anterior.

Más allá del debate sobre si el autor de la cita es Buddha u otra persona, lo importante es la lectura crítica, el pensamiento crítico, la actitud crítica. En lenguaje popular: "no tragar entero" y "moler bien el hueso"...

En muchas ocasiones nos apasionamos con lo que escuchamos, leemos, vemos y hasta con lo que nos imaginamos, soñamos y queremos. Pero somos polvo de estrellas en un inmenso, antiguo y complejo universo. Por eso la enseñanza es dudar, indagar, profundizar y siempre esperar algo nuevo más allá de lo evidente...
